2024 Best of Christian YouTube
2024 has been a fascinating year for Christian YouTubers. Here are some of my thoughts. Note that these channels are not for casual viewers, they are often long form, and hard core for debate, philosophy, theology, and apologetics.
Found Andrew Wilson, Sam Shamoun and Wes Huff on YouTube. These guys have dramatically broadened my perspective on Christianity.
David Wood and Sam Shamoun in particular have been defending and counter-attacking against Islamic polemics/apologetics. They have an aggressive and entertaining style, and you have to have a “its a war for people’s souls” attitude to understand them. They have deep knowledge of scripture, history, philosophy, and the Koran.
Andrew Wilson, JimBob and Jay Dyer have been interesting in presenting what I think is Orthodox style of apologetics. Its very philosophical and logic based, and is not afraid of being contentious, even with other Christian groups (protestants, Catholics, etc.) These guys have a deep knowledge of philosophy, church history, theology and debate.
Other Christian YouTubers of note are Daily Dose of Wisdom, Mike Winger, Ruslan (Bless God), What Do You Meme, and Cliff Knechtle. These channels have started to join forces or broaden their reach in interacting with culture, online influencers and bringing apologetics and Christian issues in a cutting edge fashion.
Honorable Mentions: Cross Examined, Ray Comfort, James Tour
Video of the year: Andrew Wilson destroys a secular influencer with Christian values to a non Christian audience of young men. What’s great about this is it was a spontaneous fight over values, and a shining example of what it looks like to bravely stand up against the world.
Second Place: Wes Huff defends Christian history and documents vs a now obvious scammer. This is significant, because most Christians aren’t even aware of how Christianity is attacked, and maybe even are swayed by mistruths about the foundation of Christian history and documents and I think Christians need to add this to their basic knowledge. A wake up call!
Third Place: Interview with Chris Langan, where the smartest man in the world explains his view on religion. Its Christian compatible, but its out there. I add this because what I personally view is similar to Chris, although I use different vocabulary, and maybe will quibble at the edges.
